There are so many wonderful photography and art oriented sites on the web that it's hard to keep track of even a small fraction of them. The ones listed here are a few that have caught my eye over the years and have the staying power to remain on my bookmark list. Some are technical sites, others showcases for some mighty fine work. If you have any suggestions, send them to me and I'll consider them for additions to our link page. In an effort to just get our newly rewritten site online, the link page is minimal at this point. More will be added in the coming months as I find the time to do the work.

Sites that will inspire you to do more...

The Luminous Landscape...Michael Reichmann's site consistently presents superb imagery and hands on reviews of equipment, written by him and guest authors. Worth checking weekly, if not more often.

David Sanger...David travels the world for commercial clients and some of his best pictures are here. A well assembled site, too.

Digital Moments...Douglas Menuez shows off a portfolio of commercial work-portraits, street photography and more.

...Vladimir Clavijo-Telepnev...the brooding Russian soul never seemed so luminous as it does in some of the portfolios on this site, particularly the portraits.

Elizabeth Opalenik...art that just happened to involve photography and photography that only an artist could produce.

Bill Atkinson...Bill made his early fame as a programmer at Apple and now uses that technical prowess to create pristine images of nature that will astound you in their beauty.

Bybee Studios ...is the showcase for Gerald Bybee's work. If you don't know his name, chances are you've seen his imagery. Making masterful use of programs like Photoshop, he has created head turning pictures that, while inspired by painters like Picasso, are purely his own.

Alex MacLean is a consummate aerial photographer. As a pilot myself, I have always been in love with the views we see from above, and Alex's work is as good as any I've seen.

James Nachtwey does not shy away from the hard truths and his photography of some the troubled places of our times reminds the viewer that photography, for all its art and creativity, can also be a powerful tool for social justice.

The Gigapixel Project takes one-upmanship in the digital camera megapixel competition to a whole new level. A fascinating look at what just might be the highest resolution camera ever. Nice pictures, too.

Lynn Radeka works in color and black and white, producing exquisite landscape work printed as pigmented inkjet prints or digital Fuji Crystal Archive prints. Coming, like many of us, from a long background of traditional photographic printing, he also offers a masking process for those still interested in darkroom work. As often the case, good photographers are happy to share their knowledge.

Sites that help you get it done

PhotographyWWW is a compendium of all things photographic. Kirlian photography? Photography careers? Jets photography? It's all here, in alphabetical order.

Fred Miranda runs a site full of useful stuff for photography and digital imaging. He sells Photoshop Actions for lots of useful stuff and maintains forums and galleries worth a look.

Photo.net is an old site (meaning ten years or more) that photographers have been turning to since the early days of the web. A community based site, it offers tips, forums, tutorials, reviews and more.

The Nocturnes is devoted to night photography. Tim Baskerville is the master and he offers year-round workshops. When insomnia strikes, why not pick up your camera?

Kite Aerial Photography is the kind of site the Web was made for. A niche interest that would be next to impossible to learn much about without sites like this.
